Carnbooth House is ideally situated in a picturesque country setting on the south side of Glasgow, only 5 miles from the city centre. Local villages include Carmunnock, Busby, Thortonhall and Castlemilk. The town of East Kilbride is a 10 minute drive away, and within a15 minute drive are areas such as Clakston, Williamwood, Newton Mearns and Giffnock. Hotel guests are within easy driving distance of Glasgow’s vibrant city attractions, and the city’s many famous museums such as the Burrell collection. Hampden Park, is located one and half miles from Carnbooth. Hampden is the home the Scottish National Football Team, and the stadium regularly hosts large rock concerts. During the Summer of 2009, acts such as Take That, the Eagles, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen and U2 played to sell-out crowds. Coldplay are scheduled to perform at Hampden in September 2009. Road links from Carnbooth are excellent to the M8 and M77,making the cosmopolitan attractions of Edinburgh and the golf courses of Ayrshire, such as Royal Troon and Burns country are therefore readily accessible. Loch Lomond lies within a 40 minute drive. |
